Meditation For Your Health

 

Meditation has been a practice in many cultures and religions for centuries. It has been used as a spiritual practice mainly but there are many benefits to your health as well. When the body and mind are stressed, it is difficult for the body to create the optimum environment for healing and health.

 

The purpose behind using it for your health is to reduce stress on both mind and body. Using standard unguided meditations can provide a general sense of well being and relaxation that can be helpful in speeding up the healing process.

 

Guided meditations can create even greater benefit to healing . They are designed to relax the mind and body and then focus the relaxed mind and body into a specific purpose. In this case, that purpose would be healing.

 

It is difficult at first for people who are used to a hectic lifestyle to relax and many people do not realize how much tension they keep in their bodies or how stressed their mind is until they begin to quite their mind. This constant tension and stress not only hampers the healing process but can also increase the risk of illness and injury in the first place. For myself, I was hit and miss on my own and always have better results when I am guided. One of my favorite techniques is to use the Silva Method. With the Silva Method and the use of their binaural beets you go very deep almost immediately.

 

Many people are surprised at how different they feel once they begin. It also allows individuals to reflect on things, which might be causing difficulties such as worries and concerns. Clearing the mind of all thoughts helps to give your mind a break and then by bringing up a single thought or focus at a time you can easily find solutions and answers that worry, tension and stress prevented you from seeing previously.

 

Once you are used to clearing your mind it is easy to slip into a state of deep relaxation with only a few deep breaths. This means you can do it anywhere you are, at home or at work. You don’t have to spend hours chanting or getting into the lotus position to get the health benefits. At least 15 minutes a day is best but if you get in the habit of looking for five or ten minutes hear and there you will be doing your body and mind a world of good.

 

Meditation is one of the methods of relaxation and healing that has been pushed aside for a variety of more advanced and technology forward methods of relaxation however, it is still one of the simplest ways to relax the body, the mind and provide an environment that encourages well being, healing and growth. Consider the healing benefits that it can bring to your life whether you are just sitting down in silence, with relaxing music or are participating in a focused guided technique.
