Chakra balancing is my primary focus during a Reiki Healing. Right from the beginning the first degree Reiki practitioner is attuned to heal the physical body, their own and others. This is when I first begin to work on the seven chakras.
In second degree Reiki the practitioner is attuned to heal the mental and emotional bodies as well as perform distance healings.
In the third or Master Degree the Reiki Healing practitioner is attuned to heal on a spiritual level.
Reiki does not have to start with any particular chakra. The direction the practitioner takes is strictly a matter of choice or intuitive guidance. Ultimately, the healing energy goes where it needs to.
The first Chakra is located between the genitals and the anus. Its color is red, its sound is Lam and is associated with the sense of smell. How you related to your first family and your early years in general will have a lot to do with the state of your first Chakra. If you are having problems with your spine, adrenal glands, kidneys, lower digestive tract, as well as anything from the tips of your toes to your hips, it may be a good idea to work on your first Chakra. It is also called the root Chakra because it pulls up the earth’s energy and keeps you grounded.
The second Chakra is located at the naval area. Its color is orange, its sound is Vam and it is associated with the sense of taste. This Chakra has to do with your passions. If you are not passionate about anything and/or you are having problems with your reproductive organs, adrenal glands or kidneys, it would be a good idea to work on your second Chakra.
The third Chakra is located in the solar plexus area. Its color is yellow, its sound is Ram and it is associated with the sense is vision. When your love for yourself is week so is this Chakra. Whatever your greatest love for someone or something else is it should at least be the same for yourself. If you don’t feel any love for yourself, imagine what it would feel like until it becomes real. If you are having problems with your lower gall bladder, spleen, stomach immune system, liver, pancreas or intestinal tract, you may want to work on your third Chakra.
The fourth Chakra is located in the upper chest and is also known as the heart Chakra. Its color is green, its sound is Yam and it is associated with the sense of touch. If you are having trouble giving or receiving love, you may want to work on your heart Chakra. It also has to do with your physical heart, lungs, circulation, immune system, breast, rib cage, thymus gland and hands.
The fifth Chakra is located in the middle of your throat. Its color is blue, its sound is Ham and it is associated with the sense of hearing. The fifth Chakra is about expression and speaking your truth. If you hold back your true expression, you run the risk of causing stagnation in this Chakra. If you are having any problems with your thyroid, throat, teeth, gums, immune system or metabolism you may want to say what you feel and work on your fifth Chakra.
The sixth Chakra better known as your third eye is located in the center of your forehead. Its color is indigo and sound is Sham. The sixth Chakra governs the brain, pituitary gland, head and the five senses. When the energy here is out of balance you may experience poor memory, eye problems, headaches or poor concentration. When your sixth Chakra energy is balanced, your intuitive abilities have the best opportunity to blossom.
The seventh Chakra also known as the crown Chakra is located at the very top of your head. Its color seems to depend on whom sees it. Deepak Chopra says it is gold, many say it is violet, Marie Manuchehri sees it as white with yellow and gold mixed in. The sound of this Chakra is Om. It is said when yogi’s raise their kundalini energy and open the seventh Chakra, enlightenment takes place. The seventh Chakra governs your nervous system and your skin.
Reiki Healing masters will normally work on all seven chakras unless there is a specific issue that needs more attention. You may also work to clear the stuck energy by placing your attention on each chakra and meditating on it's color and sound.
Chakra balancing does not usually happen in the first Reiki healing. Reiki healing has an accumulative effect and like a good massage it is wise to have a session at least once or twice a year after you are healed to stay in tune with higher vibrations. You can never recieve too much Reiki!
